ABOUT THE ITEM
Maybe you've heard about the controversy surrounding the age old folk remedy, fire cider. A company called Shire City has trademarked the name Fire Cider, which in no way belongs to them as it was first brought into the public spotlight by beloved herbalist Rosemary Gladstar.
Please visit the website www.freefirecider.com to learn more.
CONGRATULATIONS to the herbalists who won the case against shire city and freed the term fire cider!!!
This Fire Elixir is ridiculously good- its potent, spicy, and lightly sweet.
There are many variations of this remedy and this is my winter favorite. It sits for up to an entire year (sometimes a bit more) before it is strained and the honey is added. It is made from an old Family recipe that i alter slightly with the seasons. This amazing herbal vinegar is used for many ailments; cold and flu fighter, sore throat soother, sinus relief, lung congestion, allergies, heartburn remedy, it stokes the fires of digestion, is a tonic for preparing the body to the changing seasons, and it alkalizes the body. This version is specifically geared towards helping with warming the body during the cold months in addition to what was listed above.
It is delicious straight up or can be used as a salad dressing, dressing for cooked greens, or in place of vinegar for all of your favorite dishes.
For acute bouts of illness or sore throat, take small sips throughout the day. For a daily wellness tonic and to help regulate elimination, take a teaspoon or more in the morning either in or with hot lemon or lime water.
